We believe that bandwidth changes everything, connecting everybody to everything, making anything possible.
euNetworks is a Western European bandwidth infrastructure company. We own and operate dense fibre networks in 18 cities and a long haul network spanning 17 countries.
Manchester is one of Europe’s fastest growing digital hubs and we’ve operated our fibre network here since 2017, directly connecting 23 key data centres. In December 2020 we expanded our local presence and network capability with the acquisition of The Loop Manchester.
Originally designed to support the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, this network is embedded into the history and fabric of Greater Manchester.
Relaunched in 2012 as ‘The Loop’, the network is a dedicated high-speed fibre optic network in the heart of Manchester. It offers a unique duct footprint extending across the city.
Key features of The Loop
With the addition of The Loop to euNetworks, our combined Manchester metro network covers the key areas of Manchester, Salford and Trafford. Our footprint delivers unique routing, diversely connecting all the key data centres and many other key sites around the city and region.
The network, detailed street-level routing, and the experience of the local team means rapid design, planning and service turn up to on-net locations. We continue to invest in our network and connect more key sites, both in the Manchester area, across the UK and Europe in line with customer needs and demand.
Key locations
In the UK our long haul network connects up to Dublin in Ireland, down through Manchester to Cambridge, out to Slough, London and onwards to Lowestoft and Amsterdam. With multiple routes available, we connect the UK to Europe also avoiding London.
In December 2019 we added to our UK long haul footprint with the launch of our first Super Highway in Europe. Super Highway 1 delivers critical infrastructure in the UK and Ireland. We have built an entirely new end to end network system. Its 1,000km of high fibre count cable from Dublin to Manchester, London and Lowestoft including a new subsea cable (Rockabill) from Portrane to Southport.
Our long haul network spans 17 countries, connecting 53 cities across Europe. Most of our long haul network offers unique route alternatives, with multi-terabit capacity. We continue to invest in our networks, delivering more data centre to data centre connectivity for our customers.
As well as serving the growing Manchester media sector, our customers include major data centre operators, wholesale carriers, content companies, enterprises and public sector organisations.
