Our Sustainability Reports provide insight into our ESG journey to date. The 2022 Report offers an overview of implemented activities driving sustainability and establishing a foundation for sustainable practices across our business.
The 2023 Report delves deeper into specific initiatives aimed at decarbonising operations and reducing our carbon footprint while supporting stakeholders.
To support our customers in achieving their ESG and decarbonisation goals, we’ve developed innovative, data-driven tools. These tools offer emissions reporting on network construction projects and individual services.
The euNetworks Network Construction Carbon Tool
This tool assesses carbon emissions from network construction projects, offering transparency around greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for proposed new builds. It enables customers to grasp and accurately report the environmental impact of such projects, empowering adjustments to reduce their carbon footprint.
The euNetworks Carbon by Service Tool
This tool calculates the carbon emissions associated with each euNetworks service. It allows customers to report on the environmental impacts of their network services, especially Scope 3 emissions — those from the upstream or downstream supply chain — specifically the network connections owned and managed by euNetworks.
Sustainability and ESG are fundamental to our business and operational commitments. We prioritise delivering high-quality solutions while operating sustainably. Our decarbonisation roadmap sets rigorous targets to reduce our carbon footprint. We have set 1.5⁰C aligned science-based targets across Scopes 1,2 and 3, which have been validated by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). We have also committed to Net Zero by 2040.
Our roadmap involves measuring environmental and social key performance indicators (KPIs), forming the basis of our Sustainability Linked Loan. We align with established frameworks such as the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), modelling our reporting on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
For our ESG and Sustainability considerations, our key stakeholders include:
Our ESG efforts, encompassing improvement focus, initiatives, projects, assessments, and analyses, centre on four areas where our business has influence:
IPC is committed to sustainability, including ensuring that IPC’s carrier network adopts a responsible attitude. euNetworks’ program and their carbon by service tool demonstrate a commitment to actively assessing and reducing carbon emissions. Their demonstration of the tool was clear. Their commitment to continuous improvement of the tool is valuable, and only serves to strengthen the already established relationship between our respective organisations.

At euNetworks, preserving biodiversity around our network is a priority. We carefully design routes considering the ecological impact of construction, whether on land, in forestry areas, or the sea. Partnering with various European charities, we support environmental preservation initiatives, fostering vital habitats for diverse species.
To elevate and uphold the ecological well-being of Ireland, euNetworks has actively supported Host in Ireland’s initiative ‘DC for Bees’. By planting over 2000 fruit orchards across the country, we contribute to creating vital green spaces in urban areas, fostering crucial habitats for diverse species.
euNetworks has joined forces with EMC Munich in the ‘Racks4Roots’ initiative, contributing to tree planting efforts in the Bavarian forest. In 2022, 42 companies collaborated with Racks4Roots to plant over 11,700 trees.
euNetworks has partnered with South East Rivers Trust, taking part in ‘clean up’ activities to improve water quality and reduce river pollution. South East Rivers Trust works on various projects to reduce river pollution and conserve the chalk streams which are a vital part of river ecosystems.
Showstopper of the Year – Microsoft
In 2022, we announced we won Showstopper of the Year: Strides in Sustainability at Microsoft’s Supplier Prestige Awards.
Global Carrier Awards
In 2023, we won a Global Carrier Award for the Best Environmental, Social, Governmental (ESG) Initiative.
These awards underscore our commitment to long-term sustainability goals.
euNetworks is a proud signatory to the Climate Pledge, a commitment to achieve net zero carbon by 2040. This initiative forms a cross-sector community dedicated to addressing the climate crisis and decarbonising the economy. The Climate Pledge calls for regular greenhouse gas emissions reporting and the implementation of decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement, culminating in achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
We are committed to the three core areas of the Climate Pledge
